Artist Statement:
I didn’t start out to be an artist.
Engineering has been my career. Photography has been my passion. I got my first camera when I was about 12 and never really stopped taking photographs. My education and experience have been as a civil engineer. I’ve gotten into the habit of carrying a camera with me, wherever I go. When something catches my eye, I photograph it. I’ve discovered that I have a good eye, and a great imagination. My goal is to take photos that folks look at and say, “That’s a cool shot.”
I photograph what I see, and it took me years to realize that most folks didn’t see what I saw. My photos are representative of my different photographic interests. I favor nature and the outdoors of Northern California. I live in Northern California, and I’m always looking for a new road or a new area to explore. The abstracts are the product of my mind modifying what my eye sees.
I’m a member of the BlackHawk Gallery in Danville, the Gallery at Marina Square in Morro Bay, the Oli Gallery in Guerneville, and the Vacaville Art Gallery. My work has been exhibited in about a dozen galleries all around Northern California and included in several KVIE Public Television auctions. The City of Vacaville has purchased my art as part of their Permanent Art Collection.

Artist Statement:
Teresa Ferguson is a talented Central Coast photographer whose passion for art has been a driving force throughout her life. Originally a painter, Teresa’s artistic eye eventually found a new canvas in the form of her camera’s lens. With a keen sense of composition and an unwavering appreciation for beauty, she has honed her craft, capturing the incredible scenes that grace the Central Coast and beyond.
Through her work, Teresa shows us the scenes that unfold before her lens – majestic mountains, ever-changing clouds, diverse wildlife, and hidden beaches all come alive in her images. Her artistic skill extends far beyond the natural world, as she also expertly chronicles the human experience, masterfully preserving the joy and emotion of weddings, events, and portrait sessions.
