Sheril Viau’s vibrant, detailed, uplifting watercolors are inspired by her many travels. She paints a wide variety of subjects, including flowers, boats, harbors, landscapes and architecture. She grew up in Morro Bay and currently resides with her family in Nipomo, CA.
Ardella was raised in Garden Grove, California, lived in many locations, and relocated to the Central Coast 25 years ago. Ardella’s painting inspirations have been the subjects found in the many places she has lived—from living on a cattle ranch north of Cayucos to the beautiful harbor of Morro Bay, California. Ardella teaches painting classes throughout the Central Coast.
Jeff Odell is an amazing Morro Bay plein air artist. He can be seen with his plein air easel and paints walking all over Morro Bay’s beautiful seaside and town looking for a new location to paint the incredible beauty of nature and the quaintness of this small town. His oil paintings cover a span of over 30 years making his paintings of Morro Bay a historical archive of town and waterfront changes through these years. Jeff Odell’s paintings are lush with color and textures.
Landscape oil painter Mary Summers, PhD, RN, has a lifelong love of the outdoors. She values capturing scenes in beautiful light, including early morning and late in the day. Her philosophy is to “follow the brush” to record the rich colors, designs and textures of nature. She has shared the wonder of nature’s offerings with her husband, outdoor photographer Kerry Drager, for more than a quarter of a century. As well as being a Cal Poly Graduate in Architecture, he has been a resident of Morro Bay since 1970. He has impacted the lives of Morro Bay residences, businesses and visitors as a Planning Commissioner, Event Coordinator, Volunteer, Home and Building Designer. His architecture and his artwork capture the environment he lives in…Morro Bay. Don’s artwork often begins as simple soft pencil sketch that can continue into a detailed pencil rendering, change to include color pencil, ink, watercolors and even include photography with his mixed media creations. Often referred to as the “Postcards of Morro Bay”, Don’s artwork features various drawings of Morro Bay’s waterfront, Estuary and it’s flora and fauna.

He later traveled the south and exhibited his artwork of the southern landscape. He graduated from the University of West Georgia with a BA in Art, where he was awarded two Permanent Collection awards from Peter Augustini, a world renowned sculptor from New York, and internationally known painter Donald Cooper. Upon graduation, Spanky began his career as a graphic designer and colorist with a major carpet and textile manufacturer.In the mid-seventies Spanky accepted a designer colorist position in Southern California where he continued to paint and pursue his love of the local land and seascape. Most recently Spanky has moved to the Morro Bay area where he says “My peripheral vision of the central coast virtually dictates the color palette and brushstrokes onto my canvas.”
